All of us have our own views on what we would like to see in Wordpress 3.0. We already know that the Wordpress team have a new default theme on the way, but what else would you like to see? I have created a list of what I would like to see along with some reasoning. What do you think?
- Spell Check: This is a big thing for me. I would like to new and improved on the fly spell check features. It must be doable with JavaScript, but when blogging away from my Mac I do find the lack of Wordpress spell check features to be irritating as most Operating Systems or Browsers do not feature a built in spell check.
- Search Engine Optimisation: Ok, their are Plugins available to help with SEO on any Wordpress powered website, but I would like to see something built in that automatically optimises my pages for me based on what is in the pages/post.
- Security: This is always and always will be an issue for me. The most secure the better, security can always be improved weather it means adding a salt to passwords or when Wordpress hashes them for storage or a new way of storing them, I will always be interested. Continue Reading »

Wordpress 2.9 has been out for a while now, and of course that means that Wordpress 3.0 is finally on the way. 2010 is something of a special years for us all, it’s a new beginning. A new decade. A new era.
And that’s exactly how the guys over at Wordpress as treating it. As something special. As a new era. Two a lot of you, this may now be old news, but I have only today realised that I have not posted anything about this. This year, with the release of Wordpress 3.0 a new default Wordpress theme will be released.
