A New Decade, A New Era, A New Default WordPress

Wordpress 2.9 has been out for a while now, and of course that means that Wordpress 3.0 is finally on the way. 2010 is something of a special years for us all, it’s a new beginning. A new decade. A new era.

And that’s exactly how the guys over at Wordpress as treating it. As something special. As a new era. Two a lot of you, this may now be old news, but I have only today realised that I have not posted anything about this. This year, with the release of Wordpress 3.0 a new default Wordpress theme will be released.

The development for this new Wordpress theme can be seen on the 2010 development section of Wordpress.com.

When I opened my browser and navigated to this page, at first I was a little shocked. Yes, it’s a improvement, but no. I don’t like it. At all. That graphic, well you don’t want to know what it made me think of. The layout, feels to normal. It’s not ground-breaking ion any way. Yes, it’s simple. It’s clean. But it’s also boring. Nothing is going on.

Personally, I am going to be even quicker at changing it than I was with the last Wordpress theme. What are your thoughts on it?
